As part of another successful initiative under the SHIKHA Project, a two-day Basic Psychosocial Training for teachers was held on 22–23 July 2026 at Rahmatpur Secondary School in Babuganj, Barishal. The training was conducted by Bangladesh Psychiatric Care Ltd. (BPCL) and organized by the BRAC Social Compliance Programme under the SHIKHA Project, with support from the European Union. The training session was visited by Nasrin Zobaida Akter, Upazila Secondary Education Officer, Babuganj, who appreciated the initiative and its contribution to strengthening mental health support in educational settings. Participating teachers shared that the knowledge and skills gained through the training would help them better understand students’ emotions, behaviors, and psychosocial needs, while contributing to their overall mental and social development.


The initiative reflects a continued commitment to building teachers’ capacity and promoting a more supportive, inclusive, and mentally healthy learning environment.
