A two-day Basic Psychosocial Training for Teachers was held on 18–19 August 2026 at Harinal School and College, Gazipur Sadar, Gazipur. The training was organized under the BRAC SHIKHA Project with the support of the European Union and conducted by Bangladesh Psychiatric Care Ltd. (BPCL).The training aimed to strengthen teachers’ capacity to provide basic psychosocial support, identify students who may be at risk or experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties, and promote awareness and supportive practices for students’ mental well-being within the school environment. Throughout the two-day training, teachers participated in sessions and practical activities focused on psychosocial support, student mental health, early identification of vulnerable students, and appropriate support and referral mechanisms when needed. Initiatives such as this play an important role in strengthening school-based mental health awareness and creating a safer, more supportive and inclusive learning environment for students.
