BRAC and BPCL Strengthen Teachers’ Psychosocial Skills Through Training in Narayanganj

As part of another successful initiative under the SHIKHA Project, a two-day Basic Psychosocial Training for teachers was held on 29–30 July 2026 at Mirkundi High School in Bandar, Narayanganj. The training was conducted by Bangladesh Psychiatric Care Ltd. (BPCL) and organized by the BRAC Social Compliance Programme under the SHIKHA Project, with support from the European Union. The event was attended by Dr. A.S.M. Morshed, Managing Director and CEO of Bangladesh Psychiatric Care Ltd. The training was also visited by Md. Abdul Qayyum Khan, Upazila Education Officer, who observed the programme.The training aimed to enhance teachers’ knowledge, awareness, and practical skills in psychosocial support, enabling them to better understand and respond to the emotional and psychosocial needs of students.

The two-day training programme was successfully completed, marking another step toward strengthening mental health support and promoting a more supportive learning environment in educational institutions.
