Md. Sumon Sarker

Md. Sumon Sarker is an Occupational Therapist and public health professional with around 7 years of experience in pediatric rehabilitation, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), neurodevelopmental disorders, early intervention, and disability rehabilitation. He holds a B.Sc. in Occupational Therapy from Bangladesh Health Professions Institute (BHPI), University of Dhaka, including a one-year clinical internship at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP). He also completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) from Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS). He has worked extensively with children with ASD and other neurodevelopmental conditions and has international professional experience at Tree Top Hospital, Maldives. He has conducted Group Music Therapy with children for many years, using music, rhythm, movement, and group activities to support communication, social interaction, motor skills, attention, and participation. His MPH thesis focused on the prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder and its associated risk factors in Bangladesh, reflecting his interest in evidence-based practice and public health research. He is registered with both the Bangladesh Occupational Therapy Association (BOTA) and the Maldives Allied Health Council.
